It’s nearly painless to become a Northwest Science Writers Association member and enjoy our members-only e-list, science events and more!
Here’s what you’ll be getting for your $25 annual NSWA dues:
- Free or discounted admission to an expanding calendar of events: If you’re not a member, you’ll pay the full admission fee for public events. Some events will be exclusively for NSWA members and their guests.
- NSWA’s members-only mailing list: a membership forum for trading information about upcoming science events as well as job openings, freelance gigs and tips to sharpen your skills.
- NSWA Member Directory: Paid members may choose to be listed in the NSWA directory for use by fellow members and other folks who might be in the market for a few good writers.
- Members-only discounts for magazine subscriptions and other science-related stuff to come.
- In the longer term, we’re also considering other ways to further the state of science communication in the Northwest, such as academic or professional scholarships.
- Perhaps most importantly, you’ll have a say in how NSWA operates, and you’ll have plenty of opportunities to get to know your colleagues a whole lot better.
If you have questions or comments, please let us know at info@nwscience.org.
