Bryn Nelson (@SeattleBryn) wrote a piece for Time Magazine on the crisis of access to clean water and sanitation in the U.S., where more than 2 million do not have indoor plumbing and many more do not have safe drinking water. Keying off of the recent environmental disaster in East Palestine, Ohio, Nelson highlights the scope of the problem in both cities and rural areas and the faltering public investments in maintaining and replacing our aging infrastructure for water and sanitation. He highlights a few areas of progress by government and grassroots organizations and urges greater action before the scope of the disaster widens. Photo by Shannon Nobles via Wikimedia Commons
