We talked shop and had fun with science-writing peers as we built and operated robots, immersed our brains in virtual reality, played classic video arcade games, experienced a 180-degree driving simulator, toured the mainframe room, and enjoyed dozens of other interactive exhibits. Remember the first computer you ever used? We probably found one of those models among the museum’s unrivalled collection of vintage computers, nearly all of them fully operational.
In addition to all the entertainment offered by the museum, attendees snapped selfies with friends at our photo station, remotely chatted with each other via roving telepresence robots, and welcomed the newest members of the NSWA board.
We displayed recent books and other work by NSWA members. We also had a networking table to connect with colleagues and find future clients. Tickets included free admission to all three levels of this unique and hugely entertaining museum (a $16 value), plus catered appetizers, a dessert buffet, and an open bar.
Photos of the event will be available on Facebook soon!
