Cole (@kccole314) warns us that, like the nuclear bomb, generative AIs may soon get out of hand — with, perhaps, the same destructive power for our species. “What I’m mainly hearing is echoes,” she writes, “the exact same words and phrases, the same conversations, weirdly similar justifications on these parallel roads to apocalypse.” She warns, like many of its creators, that we need to take a pause on AI to understand how to use this new power before it changes our world irreversibly.
