In Pacific NW Magazine, Sandi Doughton (@sandidoughton) features long-running Seattle-area research that is uncovering clues to dementia by tracking local seniors. Doughton introduces us to researchers and participants in the study and highlights some of its key findings about risk factors and resilience. She explains how the study is expanding to learn even more about how to reduce individuals’ risk and continue the recent hopeful trend of falling dementia rates. In a companion piece, Doughton shares pearls of wisdom gathered by the study’s lead scientist for how to live well in the later years of life. Photo: Marina Guimarães via Wikimedia Commons
