The experts strongly believe the proposed guidelines will put workers at risk of infection by okaying the use of surgical masks instead of fit-tested N95s. She reports that the new guidelines, if enacted, will be yet another hit to the public’s trust in the CDC, after the agency lagged in acknowledging SARS-CoV-2’s aerosol transmission.
