Writing for Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center, Sabin Russell (@sabinwiki) takes a deep look at peripheral neuropathy, nerve damage in hands and feet that can result in numbness, tingling and stabbing pain. Often a result of treatment with particular cancer chemotherapies, this side effect can have a big impact on quality of life. Russell tells the stories of several people who have experienced peripheral neuropathy, reviews the scant evidence available to guide treatment, and talks to clinicians and researchers who are working to bring rigor to therapies for this condition.
