Brief biography: Dr. Patrick Krug is a marine biologist studying the global diversity of photosynthetic sea slugs. In collaboration with researchers worldwide, he has named over 40 new species and advanced understanding of how these unusual animals evolved to harness photosynthesis from the algae they consume. His research has been featured in National Geographic, including work on a newly discovered genus of slugs that mimic toxic algae. He has appeared on the Discovery Channel, History Channel, and PBS, and is a frequent guest on Los Angeles public radio.
