Dierdre Lockwood (@deirdrelockwood) was awarded an honorable mention, multimedia category, in the 2022 NSWA Best of the Northwest Awards for her team’s piece on cleaner air at every stage of life for the University of Washington Environmental & Occupational Health Sciences. Lockwood was writer and editorial director. The piece uses text, graphics, audio and photos to explain how air pollution affects people of different ages and how researchers are developing solutions to minimize the particulate matter and viruses in the air we breathe at home, at school and on the job.
